BIOGRAPHY
As a consultant in the non-profit industry, Susan has
dedicated her professional efforts to helping
organizations design solutions that achieve maximum
results.
After graduating from Florida State University, she
spent the first part of her professional career in the
for-profit arena working for companies including
Columbia Broadcasting Systems and the Gillette
Company. Her experience led to a proven track record
in the ability to effectively analyze organizational
needs and develop and implement strategies to solve
problems and maximize success.
Susan shifted her career focus and expertise to work
in the non-profit field where she worked for the
Parent Resource Center. She has also provided training
to Heart of Florida United Way, Walt Disney World, and
Lockheed Martin.
As the Project Manager for the Orange County School Readiness
Coalition during the start up of the school
readiness initiative, Susan began working with the
Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County in 2001
where she has since dedicated herself fulltime to
ensuring that the children of Osceola County enter
school prepared to succeed.

BIOGRAPHY
At a young age, Daisy Silva
emigrated from Cuba to the United States to Chicago,
Illinois where she lived for several years before
settling down in Miami, Florida where she obtained
her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
While
in Miami, she worked with Major Appliances as an
Accountant Supervisor for 6 years before accepting
the role of Controller with H&J Paving Corporation,
where she was responsible for all accounting
functions and contract work.
In 1993, Daisy began working with
Miami Dade County Housing Agency as an Accounts
Payable Supervisor where she supervised a staff of
10, overseeing the disbursement of operating
expenditures exceeding $30 million annually. She
then transferred to the Section 8 Housing Division
where she managed a staff of over 20 people in the
maintenance of interdepartmental agreement programs,
allocation of expenditures, budget oversight and
more. Of the 13 years that Daisy was with Miami Dade
Housing Agency, 7 of those were spent supervising
the Cash Management Division, in which she managed
the Agency’s cash average balance of $15 to $18
million, coordinated cash investments on a daily
basis, maintained long-term debt service schedules
and maintained the Home Ownership and Vista Verde
Program files where she also personally attended
closings.
In 2005,
Daisy relocated to Orlando, Florida
to be closer to her family and accepted the position
of Fiscal/Compliance Manager with the Early Learning
Coalition of Osceola County.
As the Fiscal/Compliance Manager, Daisy is
responsible for the non-profit grant accounting and
fiscal integrity functions with the Coalition,
fiscal planning, revenue and expense projections,
fiscal record keeping, and fiscal and contract
compliance.

BIOGRAPHY
In her hometown of Seattle, Washington, Shelli spent
much of her adult life very integrated and involved
in the North Seattle community of Shoreline. Shelli
has over 20 years experience working with children
and families which includes countless hours of
volunteer work at the Shoreline School District
offering teacher support, student support, and
family communication. Eleven of these years were
spent as the owner and childcare provider of Happy
Faces Childcare where her passion was to enrich the
lives of children and families in the community
through support and services for working families.
Shelli and her family spent time in 2007 traveling
the country before relocating to Kissimmee, Florida
where she enjoyed a hiatus with family before
joining the Early Learning Coalition of Osceola
County in 2008 as a contracted consultant. In 2010,
Shelli transitioned to a permanent position as the
Program Services Coordinator with the Coalition
before becoming the Program Services Manager.
Shelli is passionate about all areas of early
learning and enjoys the opportunity to serve the
early learning community in Osceola County.
