COALITION MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

The Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County is made up
a group of community leaders who have volunteered their time
and talents to spearhead the school readiness initiative in
our community. The following parameters have been
established as membership guidelines for those who are
currently serving on our board and/or who are interested in
serving.
Membership Term of Service
The Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County has
staggered terms of membership that is three (3) years in
length. Membership terms are determined by designated term
vacancies at the time of membership recruitment.
Time Commitment
The Coalition meets once a month for
approximately 1.5 hours per meeting. Members will also be
asked to serve on sub-committees and/or act as an officer of
the Coalition. Members are asked to commit to maintaining an
active Coalition membership status, which includes the
attendance of a minimum of 6 meetings per year. If a
member misses 3 or more meetings in a row without providing
prior notice, their membership is automatically terminated.
Membership Responsibilities
New Members

Attend a School Readiness Coalition New Member Orientation
-
Become familiar with the Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County Strategic Plan
-
Become familiar with all aspects of
related state and federal grants, legislative
requirements and other pertinent school readiness
information
Members
-
Attend a minimum of six (6) Coalition meetings annually
-
Actively participate in discussions and the decision making
process of Coalition business
-
Serve on at least one subcommittee
-
Actively act as a public relations arm of the Coalition in
educating the community about school readiness
CURRENT BOARD MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The Early Learning Coalition of Osceola County is
currently seeking leaders to serve as board members in
helping us turn our vision into reality.
Current vacancies include board members who work in the
private sector of the community and who do not directly or
indirectly earn an income in the child care industry.
The Coalition is especially interested in recruiting
individuals that:

Can expand the cultural diversity
of our current board

Have a background in public
relations and/or advertising

Have a strong working knowledge of
government and legislation
-
Belong to civic groups such as the
Kiwanis, Rotary and others
-
Is a decision maker in a major
corporation or has corporate contacts
If you fulfill one or more of the above requirements and are
interested in applying for Board Membership, please complete

contacted within 30 days of application submission regarding
their status.
