FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT CHILD CARE FOOD PROGRAM

WHAT IS CCFP?
CCFP is the Child Care Food Program, a Federal program that provides reimbursement to allow the provision of nutritious meals and snacks to children ages 12 and under who are receiving childcare. 4C is a sponsor of this program for centers, Family Child Care Homes, and Head Start in Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties under contract to the Florida Department of Health.

HOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM?
You must:
Be a licensed Child Care Home or Center.
Operate in Orange, Osceola or Seminole County.
Have at least 25% of your total enrollment funded with federal dollars, if operating a for-profit center. 4C Records Office will validate this attendance for all for-profit centers.
Provide meals and snacks for all children.
Not be participating in another nutrition program.
Attend a CCFP Orientation/Training session.

HOW MUCH WILL I BE REIMBURSED FOR THE MEALS I PROVIDE?
Centers receive payments based on the type of meal served and the child’s eligibility for free (F), reduced-price (R), or non-needy (N) meals. This is based on the income of the family. A sheet for each family being claimed must be completed for meals to be claimed. Meals may not be claimed without this form being completed and scored by 4C staff.
