Program Enhancement Resources

Professional Development
Well trained and educated teachers prepare children for success in kindergarten and beyond. That is why our Coalition provides access to high quality training opportunities offered by qualified trainers on a variety of topics throughout the year to meet the needs of Osceola County's early educators.

Grants and Scholarships
Our Coalition receives grant funds to be allocated to Quality Initiatives that may be used to promote and enhance the early care and education environment. Participation in the Coalition’s Quality Initiatives is contingent upon the participating early learning provider’s compliance with the School Readiness Provider Agreement and/or the Statewide VPK Provider Agreement.

Curriculum Approval & Exception Request Process
The Coalition is required to ensure that School Readiness programs provide the elements necessary to prepare children for kindergarten by providing a curriculum that addresses acceptable practices based on the Florida School Readiness Performance Standards.  To do this, the Coalition has developed a List of Approved DAP Curriculum that is currently recognized for use by all School Readiness programs.  The Coalition realizes, however, that there are other curricula that may be a valuable resource to early educators as they plan for the learning of young children.  For that reason, a Curriculum Task Force has been established to consider expanding the List of Approved DAP Curriculum to include other quality curricula that is proven to meet the required criteria.  Early learning provider's may submit a Curriculum Exception Request Application along with a copy of their daily schedule, their last four weeks of lesson plans for each age group served, and any other materials that they would like to be considered to the Coalition's Curriculum Task Force for consideration.

Inclusion Support Services
Do you care for a child that is having problems learning, has poor fine motor or speech skills, and/or has a hard time making friends and getting along with others?  If your answer is yes to one or more of these areas of concern, you may be interested in Sending Out Support (SOS), a program that provides free, on-site technical assistance to early educators who are struggling with the inclusion of children with special needs in their early learning environments.  You may click on the link above for additional information or you can request immediate assistance by calling The Warm Line at (407) 932-3445.
