The T.E.A.C.H. Early ChildhoodŽ
Scholarship Program began in 1990 in North Carolina as a
small pilot program providing a single comprehensive
scholarship model to 21 early childhood teachers. The
project offers a
strategy for systematically improving the education,
compensation and retention of the early childhood work
force. The model is based on a partnership principle
that involves the sharing of expenses by the teacher,
director or family child care provider receiving the
scholarship, the sponsoring child care facility and
T.E.A.C.H.
Nutrition
is an important part of a good child care program. The
Child
Care Food Program (CCFP)
strives to improve the diets of children in child care
and to promote nutrition education. Child care providers
participating in CCFP are reimbursed for meals and
snacks and have access to nutritional resources,
training and technical assistance. Providers also
receive assistance in practical day-to-day operations,
such as menu planning and sanitation.
4C sponsors the CCFP in Orange,
Osceola, and Seminole counties. If you are
