Osceola School Readiness

Educational Toys, Games & Activities
Minimum Requirements: Must be in good condition and appropriate for children ages birth through five.

Children learn through play.  The development of fine and gross motor skills, hand and eye coordination, recognition of colors, shapes, numbers, letters, critical thought process, and more depends on the child's ability to play with toys, games and activities in child care provider settings to maximize the development of these critical early skills.  *ALL donations are tax deductible & the Coalition will gladly furnish a letter of donation upon request.

Arts & Crafts Supplies
Includes construction paper, crayons, Elmer's glue, glue sticks, pipe cleaners, children's scissors, butcher block paper, cotton, etc.

Research shows that approximately 80% of a person's intelligence is formed by age five.  Educational activities help to stimulate critical brain connections needed to develop their intelligence.  Your donation will allow child care providers to offer more educational activities to children, thereby increasing their changes to maximize their intellectual potential.  *ALL donations are tax deductible & the Coalition will gladly furnish a letter of donation upon request.

Children's Books
Minimum Requirements: books must be in good condition and suitable for children ages one to twelve.

The development of early literacy skills is crucial for children to succeed in school.  Our providers invest heavily in the purchase of these items; however, there is still a large shortage due to the replacement costs.  Children will be children and the more they enjoy the books, the quicker they become damaged or destroyed.  Your donation will replenish or enhance provider early literacy libraries throughout Osceola County.  *ALL donations are tax deductible & the Coalition will gladly furnish a letter of donation upon request.

Infant & Toddler Supplies
Includes diapers, baby wipes, lotion, bottles, bottle brushes, formula, pacifiers, bibs, changing pads, strollers, high chairs, booster seats, swings, playpens, etc.

As a child care provider, taking care of infants & toddlers requires the basic supplies in order to provide quality early child care in a healthful and safe environment.  We are especially particular about the condition of baby items.  Please, donate only what you would give to your own baby.   *ALL donations are tax deductible & the Coalition will gladly furnish a letter of donation upon request.

Technology
Includes computers, digital cameras, video, printers, scanners, and adaptive devices; software that can be used for writing, graphics, and concept development; and the Internet. Adaptive devices include, but are not limited to, switches, touch tablets, adapted keyboards, and communication devices.

The use of computers and technology in early childhood education has grown each year, and the ways in which technology tools are used to manage and improve programs and enhance children’s learning have expanded dramatically. The trend will continue for the foreseeable future; but issues of access and affordability will remain as significant barriers for many early childhood programs and professionals. Your donation will harness these new technology tools to make a real difference for the young children, parents, and families in our care by overcoming these barriers. *ALL donations are tax deductible & the Coalition will gladly furnish a letter of donation upon request.
